Inauguration
Alright, so here's the deal: Right now I am at work, where a layoff is imminent. My company is going through a merger and right now we are in the last phase of transition, and when I say transition- that's a euphemism for effectively eliminating(the need for) my position. I have no gripes, though. For the last 3 months I have been arriving at work at 10am, working for about an hour out of the day, and promptly evacuating the office at 4:30p. My boss really doesn't care what I do at this point.
So about two weeks ago, bored out of my mind at "work", I decided why don't I start a blog? With no real substance for posts or the slightest idea of what or when I will make them, I opened an account and declared that this will be the greatest Blog of all time or something to that end. I was extremely excited, but that sensation quickly tapered off after it was met with the sobering realization that maintaining a blog was a lot of work and requires legitimate talent/experience- of which I have little to none. At any rate, I sort of put the Blog idea on a shelf, with the slight intention to come back to it when presented with right inspiration or subject. Yesterday was my older brother's first wedding, so the forthcoming post will be the post game analysis .
Before I dive into it, here's the disclaimer- Inauguration
I have no blueprint for this blog, there is no method to my madness, in fact I may never post again. It will inevitably run off on completely irrelevant tangents and cover topics that offer little to no value to society or any sort of "righteous cause". The goal of this blog is merely to entertain my friends with unique commentary about events in my life, hone my writing skills, and as my friend Leo would call it- an STD(Something To Do). If it materializes into a legitimate blog, great, if it doesn't- then so be it.
The preceding (italicized) paragraph shall serve as my mission statement.
